Payne, Carlyle and EDF Launch New Way to Build Environmental Capital

The Payne Firm, along with The Carlyle Group and the Environmental Defense Fund, today announced the creation of a pioneering business process called EcoValuScreen. This new analytic tool helps private equity firms and other companies identify hidden economic value in a business before an investment is made.

EcoValuScreen goes beyond the traditional focus of risk mitigation during due diligence by identifying opportunities for enhanced environmental performance leading to better financial returns and reduced environmental impact. Carlyle will first implement EcoValuScreen in its U.S. and European buyout funds. Additional details are in the attached news release.
